Brief description of works
We’re proud to have completed the full electrical installation for the groundbreaking Personal Environment Activity Research Laboratory (PEARL). This state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility is UCL’s first net-zero carbon building, powered entirely by 2,070 photovoltaic (PV) panels expertly installed by our team.
Spanning 43,055 sq ft, PEARL is designed to enable researchers to study how people interact with urban infrastructure in full-scale environments. The facility is a hub for innovation, offering a unique platform to test and optimise urban spaces.
Our scope of work included:
- Lighting power: Efficient, high-performance lighting systems.
- HV and LV systems: Comprehensive high-voltage and low-voltage installations.
- Data and PA systems: Advanced communication and information solutions.
- Security systems: Cutting-edge technology for building safety.
- PV system installation: Supporting sustainability with renewable energy solutions.
- Specialist lighting design: Collaborating to create lighting that mimics any sky climate.
