Brief description of works
We were selected to carry out critical generator replacement works at two Co-op CDC sites located at Avonmouth and Castlewood. The project involved the removal and replacement of existing generators to improve operational reliability and ensure continuous power supply for the facilities.
- Decommissioning and removal of two existing Cummins 1000Kva generators.
- Installation of new 1500Kva prime-rated generators, enclosed in weatherproof close-fit canopies to protect the equipment from environmental conditions. The new generators feature a noise level of 74 dBA at 7m at full load, ensuring minimal disruption to the surrounding area.
- Integration of SCR/NoX system for advanced emission control, featuring NoX measurement technology to monitor and minimise environmental impact.
- Fuel polishing system installation for the existing bulk fuel tank, enhancing fuel quality and prolonging the life of the new generators.
- Provision and installation of connection boxes to enable connection to remote load banks or temporary generators. This ensures the new generators can run under load or offline, maintaining operations at all times.
- Comprehensive electrical and control works to bring the new standby generators online, ensuring they meet all operational requirements.
